“Beauty” – The Artistry of Precision and Radiance

◆ Tour Overview
– Encounter with the Essence of Japanese Mastery –
Step into the world of Japanese artisans where timeless techniques meet contemporary sensibilities.
At one atelier, fragments of seashells are cut, polished, and woven into silk threads, giving birth to Raden-ori, a radiant textile that captures shimmering light itself.
At another, glowing steel is hammered with breath and spirit, as young swordsmiths forge Japanese swords that embody the spirit of a new era.
Across generations, mastery has been handed down, together with a relentless pursuit of beauty. Where tradition and innovation converge, new value is born.
On this journey, you will encounter the living evolution of Japanese craftsmanship that continues to transcend time.
■ Tamiya Raden (Raden Textile Atelier)

Iridescent brilliance reminiscent of the sea—Raden-ori is a one-of-a-kind textile woven with threads made from Mother-of-Pearl shells.
Applying Nishijin’s traditional hikibaku technique, shells are elevated into luminous fibers, a rare innovation almost unseen in the world.
Long cherished for kimono sashes, Raden-ori now resonates with diverse materials such as wood, leather, and lacquer, evolving into new expressions in global fashion and interior design.
Here you will witness the harmony of masterful craftsmanship and contemporary design, in the very moment when light itself is woven into fabric.

■ Nippon Genshosha (Japanese Swordsmiths)

In 2022, three young swordsmiths who trained under Mukansa master Yoshihara Yoshindo founded this forge to create Japanese swords for a new era.
Their vision is not to reproduce the past, but to forge blades that reflect the spirit of the present age.
Sparks split the darkness, steel glows red, and the blade takes shape—each instant resonates with a sense of sacred creation.
Here, you will witness the very site where centuries of tradition are inscribed with a new chapter in the lineage of Japanese swords.
